DLNET is envisaged as a repository of "Learning Objects" (LOs) that will complement engineering and technology education as well as facilitate lifelong-learning activities such as training, self-paced study and literature search.

Visitors are welcome to search, browse and download learning objects from DLNET's engineering and technology related collection. A brief description of the tasks facing the general user is given below:

• Simple: based on keyword entry
  
• Advanced: based on a combination of metadata elements.
  
• Browse: based on a classification list or taxonomy

Users may view the learning objects listed in the search output table by clicking on the Title bars. Learning Objects will be played online provided they are in html or browser compatible format.

Users may download learning objects to their local drives by clicking on the DOWNLOAD LO button. The download is in the form of a zipped file named dlnLO.zip.

Users must unzip the downloaded file dlnLO.zip and extract the files to a location or folder of their preference. A file unzipping utility may be required.
